About MeoW OCR
MeoW OCR is a Windows screen OCR and translation application developed and operated by UenStudio, an independent developer based in Vietnam.
What MeoW OCR does
MeoW OCR recognizes text from a selected region, window, or screen and translates it without requiring users to leave the content they are viewing. Translations can appear as an overlay in place of the source text.
Where it can be used
MeoW OCR is designed for screen content including visual novels, JRPGs, story-driven games, manga, videos, and other text visible on a Windows display. OCR and translation quality can vary with image quality, typography, language, and context.
How text is processed
Users can choose Local OCR, which processes the selected region on the device, or Cloud OCR, which sends the selected scan region to the MeoW service. Translation currently requires an internet connection. Optional AI translation can use additional context to improve results.
Compatibility and safety
MeoW OCR supports Windows 10 and Windows 11. It captures screen content and does not inject code into or hook game processes. Windowed and borderless applications generally provide the best compatibility; exclusive fullscreen and anti-cheat compatibility can vary.
